This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level individual passionate about the art world and eager to learn more about the recruitment process.

We are looking for an intern to join our team in London over a period of 4 weeks. Our office is an open plan space in the heart of Soho and we have a hybrid work schedule, with three days working in office per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), the office is open and available to work from on Tuesdays and Fridays as well. Our ideal start date is Monday 23rd September but we have some flexibility.

The intern, with the assistance of our Team Administrator, will be responsible for managing incoming enquiries from art businesses seeking new employees and candidates seeking job opportunities. You would also be responsible for providing candidate research support to our busy and international team of consultants. We are looking for somebody who can contribute to our social media strategy, participating in our social media strategy and content generation team meetings, and the intern will also be expected to carry out one focused art market research-based project to complete during the internship, we are open to ideas as to what you are interested in that might also benefit our understanding of a new region or sector

The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly confident, and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Key activities

Managing the office phone linesMonitoring the info email, filtering and processing requests/applicationsAdding candidates to, and updating our databaseResearch support: identifying candidates in response to a client brief using both our database and LinkedIn as well as other resources such as staffing lists on business websites, existing research and market mapsPerforming a research project: strategically mapping a specific geography/industry in order to expand our art market research bankProducing a weekly business development reportCollaborating with the research team on social media strategy and postingAnswer the phone in a polite and professional manner and forward calls to relevant team membersProducing a weekly art news round-up to share with the team What we're looking forProactive and detail orientedExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHighly confident and adept at working within a teamFamiliar with Microsoft Office (word, outlook, excel, teams) Sophie Macpherson Ltd.
