Playground Games is looking for a Gameplay Animator to join our talented Fable team here in Leamington Spa.

We are a premier Xbox Game Studio, crafting genre-defining games that delight players with their accessibility, visual allure, and pure fun. Our diverse and passionate team is currently working on the exciting reboot of the much-adored Fable franchise.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Gameplay Animator at Playground, you are passionate, eager to learn, and a keen problem solver. We seek creative animators with a deep fondness for gaming and an understanding of how to implement animations in a game engine.

Your experience in animation will have given you a solid foundation to build on and a developed eye for the breakdown and design of animation focused mechanics.

Whether you're a seasoned animator with a strong foundation or an emerging talent ready to grow your skills, this role offers an opportunity to enhance your understanding of animation-focused mechanics.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Create and iterate on high-quality key-frame and mocap animation assets and implement them in-game.
  • Following guidelines on content workflows and planning will form a part of your responsibilities.
  • Collaborate in the execution of mocap shoots while being mindful of technical constraints.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Showcase exceptional key-frame animation skills in a reel that demonstrates your mastery of foundational animation principles and acting abilities.
  • Illustrate a proficient command of weight, timing, and posing through your ability to manipulate motion capture data and key-frame animation.
  • A deep passion for game development and a keen awareness of current titles and industry trends will set you apart.
DESIRABLE (NOT REQUIRED):
  • Experience working on console games or RPG games. Skills in motion capture and facial animation.
