BANK- ROTATIONAL Pharmacy SUPPORT WORKER – BAND 3

Applications are invited for individuals with an interest in healthcare to join the pharmacy team in Ninewells Hospital as a Pharmacy Support Worker. Hospital pharmacy experience is desirable.

The role includes dispensing, supporting the management of medicines shortages, providing ward stock management services, picking and issuing medicines and checking stock.

Qualities and skills required

Commitment to achievement of any necessary trainingAccuracy and attention to detailFlexible and able to adjust to the needs of the service on a daily basisThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to use a keyboard, computer and other electronic devices / equipment effectively

You should have completed

NHS Scotland Healthcare Support Worker induction standardsGPhC approved pharmacy support worker course (eLearning)Local PSW competency training and assessment

Or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.

.You will be required to have achieved the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
