Our client, a Cambridge College are seeking to recruit a full-time, permanent Payroll and Human Resources (HR) Administrator.

Salary £37,099 per annum

Working 50% of the time on payroll and 50% in support of the HR Manager, this role would suit someone with experience of working in a busy payroll role and a wish to broaden their remit with HR administration.

This role is to ensure the accurate and timely preparation and execution of three monthly payrolls, administering the associated preparation and uploading of returns and journals and ensuring accurate and timely payments to HMRC, Pension providers and others to ensure legal compliance. Significant experience of working in a similar capacity is essential and experience of doing a similar job in a collegiate context is desirable. They have IRIS Cascade Payroll/HR system and familiarity with that, and also with SUN or another similar financial package, is desirable.

This role also encompasses providing support to the HR Manager in areas such as recruitment, induction and probation, visa sponsorship and DBS checking and assisting with the management of staff sickness absence procedures and annual appraisal discussions. A keen eye for detail, discretion and a commitment to fairness and equality are important qualities to possess.

This is a permanent, full-time post, working 37.5 hours a week. The salary is paid at point 42 on the University's single salary spine, currently £37,099 per annum. In addition, as part of a range of employee benefits, the College offers membership of the USS pension scheme with a current employer contribution of 14.5%, and an annual holiday entitlement of 33 days per year (inclusive of bank holidays). Other benefits include a free meal when on duty, free car parking where available and free use of the College's gym facilities.
