Applications are invited for a position of Diagnostic Laboratory Technician available from 20th May 2024 or as soon as possible after this date.

The Clinical Pathology laboratory provides a range of services critical to the timely diagnosis of patients presenting in the clinics; these services include haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, cytology and flow cytometry amongst others. The laboratory receives approximately 10,000 submissions per year and is also involved in a range of multidisciplinary research projects both within the Department of Veterinary Medicine and in collaboration with other institutions.

The role holder will be expected to work across different areas of the laboratory, utilising a diverse skill set. Previous experience of laboratory procedures, particularly haematology with blood film evaluation is highly desirable, however training will be provided as required. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, with the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload. A strong team working ethic is essential.
