We seek a practical and detail orientated person to take on the role of Technician in our Corrosion laboratories. Dedicated to the corrosion testing of materials and coatings used in industry sectors such as aerospace, oil & gas, renewable energies, and transport.

The successful candidate will assist TWI's Corrosion Engineers & other Technicians with the progression of corrosion tests, both practically, as well as giving advice regarding best practice. They will assist in the maintenance and calibration of the varied range of equipment used to run corrosion tests.

Candidates will help in writing risk assessments and lab procedures to support the Quality, Health & Safety requirements that laboratory work demands, and also help estimate the costs for the practical work for corrosion testing proposals.

The role will also involve advising and helping PhD students who study at TWI.

You will be self-motivated and willing to contribute both in a team environment and independently. You will work with different gases, chemicals and pressures to simulate the environments of the test materials.

Travel

This position may require occasional travel.
