Location: The role will be based at our London office, Carmelite House, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.

You will provide administrative and organisational support to the Managing Director of Hodder & Stoughton. In addition to managing the MD's diary and other administrative duties, the role will also include some editorial responsibilities such as reviewing proofs.

What you'll be doing

Booking and co-ordinating travelManaging the slides, agenda, and minutes for meetings Supporting MDs with office operations, reviewing and updating employee guidance notes, org charts and proceduresProcessing invoices and expensesArranging schedules for the London Book FairBooking author/agent lunches/dinners Who we're looking forThis role requires good communication, problem-solving and project-management skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to be flexible, adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced hybrid office environment.It would be equally suitable for someone wanting to get back into work after a career break as it would be for someone looking for their next role as a Personal Assistant. Significant office-based work experience, supporting a senior manager or team or bothDemonstrable experience of organising a complex administrative workload and juggling deadlines and prioritiesDiscrete and capable of dealing with commercially or personally sensitive information at the highest levelDemonstrable experience in communicating appropriately, unambiguously, and effectively with colleagues and third parties at a variety of levels, both verbally and in writingComplex diary management and travel itinerary experienceConfident in the use of key IT programmes and able to adapt to using new systems and processes with easeOutstanding interpersonal skillsWhat really matters is that you are calm and tactful, take initiative, enjoy a challenge, enjoy working with a wide variety of people and projects and take pride in improving processes.
