The Role

Careers Consultant (3 days/0.6FTE – Fixed term contract until 31st of July 2025) at the University of London Careers Service – St Georges University of London (SGUL)

The University of London Careers Service is recruiting a Careers Consultant to work with undergraduates and graduates from St. George's University of London (SGUL) for 3 days a week (0.6 FTE) on a fixed-term contract. This role involves helping students and graduates acquire the skills needed to choose their future paths, secure employment, and manage their careers. You will provide high-quality, client-centred careers and employability support through one-to-one guidance, workshops, events, and other activities, delivered both remotely and in-person, tailored to SGUL's specialized programmes.

A key responsibility is building strategic relationships with academic staff, alumni, student representatives, employers, and other stakeholders to design and deliver optimal employability support. Additionally, you will develop online resources and learning materials.

The SGUL Careers Consultants are integral to the University of London Careers Service, sharing best practices and support with other Small and Specialist Colleges within the University, and the team supporting the University of London's distance and flexible learners. Being part of The Careers Group, team members collaborate across the group to enhance service quality and effectiveness.

SGUL operates a hybrid working model, with staff expected to be on campus for 40% of their working week (pro rata for part-time staff). The postholder will work on campus at least one day per week and be available for in-person group sessions and one-to-one career appointments as needed. This model will be reviewed periodically, and the postholder will be expected to adhere to the same model as SGUL staff.
