Senior Project Officer

Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom UWE, Bristol Full time

About the vacancy:

This is an opportunity to work on an innovative project to identify an optimum pathway for people with bladder or bowel leakage (incontinence) for the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) area.

Incontinence can affect as many as 1 in 5 adults, meaning it is far more common than often realised and very much hidden due to embarrassment and secrecy. At the Bladder and Bowel CONfidence Health Integration Team, we have been working on projects in the BNSSG area to change the landscape for people with incontinence. This project is an opportunity to unpick the current journey for people with incontinence and identify how this could be improved for both individuals and the health and social care system. You will work with patients, the public, clinicians in varied clinical specialties, and wider organisations within the area to work out what works well and what can be improved in collaboration with the stakeholders that can influence required changes.

About you:

This role will involve widespread engagement across the BNSSG system and the organisations that form it. You should have experience of engagement and be confident engaging with professional networks, diverse groups of patients and the public, colleagues in strategic roles, across the breadth of health and social care. You will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills along with the ability to think proactively to maximise all encounters and opportunities for this project. You will be required to liaise with all stakeholders to manage engagement activity, lead engagement projects, report findings through various written and presentation methods and horizon scan to pursue new directions as they emerge. Excellent time management will be essential to maintain pace with this evolving project. You will be managing your own workload and will be supported by Professor Nikki Cotterill along with other members of the BABCON Health Integration Team.

Experience working with the health and social care sector would be advantageous but is not essential and no previous experience with bladder and bowel health is required.

This post is based at our Glenside Campus.

In addition to progressive pay rates, we offer a wide range of employee benefits including:

  • 1st month free to our Centre for Sport facilities for all new starters
  • family friendly policies and wellbeing initiatives
  • onsite nursery at our Frenchay Campus
  • option to participate in the cycle to work scheme
  • access to a wide variety of in-house training courses and development programmes
