As a Head of Service you will play a pivotal role in providing leadership, operational management, and professional support to our Operational Teams, including the Advice and Wellbeing Hub and Hospital Discharge Team.

The role involves working flexibly in covering across the Directorate and within the service as required, and at any council sites across the Borough to meet the needs of the service.

Your role will involve leading teams responsible for the initial contact with residents who are initiating engagement with Adult Social Care. Our objective is to provide a strength-based, early, and preventative approach to address and stabilize residents' care needs, aiming to divert from long-term care management.

You will be leading the following teams:

• ASC Advice and Well Being Hub (i.e. ASC Front Door)

o Includes Social Care and OT referrals

o Includes Safeguarding Referrals

• Hospital Discharge Team

You'll help us to embed a strength-based culture to meet the needs of our residents and deliver our workforce for the future, championing social work practice across the council, locally and with national partners.

You will work within the legal framework provided by the statute, guidance, policies, and procedures.



You will need to have:

• A degree or equivalent in Social Work or Occupational Therapy.

• Registration with Social work England / HCPC.
