We are currently seeking a Shovel Driver / Silo Operative to join our team full-time and permanently. Day and night shifts are available:

  • Day shifts between 6.00 am and 7.00 pm, Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week with occasional overtime
  • Night shifts averaging 36 hours per week over four weeks on either Shift A or Shift B, rotating every four weeks.

Shift A:
  • Sunday 19:00 - Monday 07:00
  • Monday 19:00 - Tuesday 07:00
  • Tuesday 19:00 - Wednesday 07:00

Shift B:
  • Wednesday 19:00 - Thursday 07:00
  • Thursday 19:00 - Friday 07:00
  • Friday 19:00 - Saturday 07:00

The Role:

As a Shovel Driver / Silo Operative, you will be part of a team managing the daily silo and flat store operations at West Twin Silos in Belfast Harbour.


Your responsibilities will include:
  • Operating tripper to discharge commodities into store bays
  • Loading trucks
  • Assisting with ship discharge
  • Conducting daily checks on equipment

About You: To qualify as a Shovel Driver / Silo Operative, you must be willing to work weekends and have flexibility in your approach to hours and duties. Experience in an automated animal feed store or bulk material handling is advantageous.

This position may also be known as Warehouse Operative, Manufacturing Operative, Operations Assistant, Silo Worker, or various other titles.
