Scientific Communications Manager, Inflammation

What you will do

The Inflammation Scientific Communications Manager is a key role within our medical affairs and wider brand team, working on our Inflammation portfolio.

This role is integral in ensuring accuracy in the communication of data on our products across the medical and scientific community and supporting our internal cross functional partners. As such this role demands an experienced professional with a proven ability to effectively communicate complex scientific matters with stakeholders at all levels.

All activities will be conducted in compliance with UK ABPI and Amgen regulatory standards and include:

  • Develop and implement strategies to effectively communicate advanced scientific information to healthcare professionals.
  • Create and tailor scientific content for various audiences, including publications.
  • Lead the planning and execution of medical activities across digital channels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners within the UK/Ireland affiliate and the global organisation to coordinate and enhance scientific communication activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of scientific communication initiatives.
  • Conduct medical reviews of promotional and non-promotional content.
  • Efficiently manage vendors for content development.
  • Support medical information in response to complex medical inquiries

You will be joining a Medical team comprising of a Medical Director and Medical Science Liaisons, as well as cross functional brand teams comprising commercial and market access colleagues.

  • Advanced degree in a scientific discipline with proven experience in medical communications, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Aptitude in writing and presenting on scientific and clinical data with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organisational, time management, and project planning skills with strong ability for self-direction
  • Knowledge of regulatory / safety / Code requirements and implications of Medical Communication and Medical Information activities
  • Understanding of disease and landscape and clinical data to enable critical analysis of scientific literature and communicate implications cross-functionally
  • Ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, concise messaging.
