We are working with our client, a green energy solutions and services company with global presence but in start up phase in the UK. They are currently looking to recruit a Finance Director to lead their UK finance function, reporting into the Group Finance CEO. We are ideally looking for a candidate who has worked in asset heavy Energy infrastructure and has some experience with private equity.
Your roles and responsibilities will include;
Ø Develop and execute comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with the company's strategic objectives and working with growth, development and operations teams.
Ø Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
Ø Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, revenue enhancement, and capital efficiency to drive sustainable growth. Actively steer the business through good understanding of investment returns.
Ø Oversee and participate in the preparation of accurate annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
Ø Oversee and participate in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management reports and forecasts.
Ø Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including taxation, VAT, and statutory reporting obligations, and liaise with external auditors as required.
Ø Implement robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and maintain financial integrity in line with group practices.
Ø Enhance financial and KPI reporting to provide valuable insights to senior management and stakeholders.
Ø Collaborate with Group to manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
Ø Liaise with Group to provide information and support to raise new financing and execute strategic initiatives.
Ø Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, encouraging a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Ø Provide guidance and support to finance team members, empowering them to excel in their roles and contribute to the overall success of the organisation.
Ø Promote a positive work environment characterised by ownership, accountability, collaboration, integrity, and professional growth.
Ø Closely work with Group to drive efficiencies and cross-country collaboration.
Ø Ability to work across international teams and build relationships.
Ø Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including, parent company, regulators, and auditors.
Ø Serve as a key point of contact for financial enquiries related to the UK business.
Ø Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and functional leaders, to align financial objectives with business priorities.
Know-How & Experience & Education
Competencies
•Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred.
•Proven experience in senior finance leadership roles.
•Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to UK-based companies.
•Demonstrated track record of financial planning, analysis, and reporting, with the ability to drive strategic decision-making and optimise financial performance.
•Prior experience in treasury management, capital markets, and project finance would be advantageous.
•Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
•Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of managing complexity, driving change, and delivering tangible business outcomes.
•Like to work under pressure and tight deadlines and manage through proper planning.
•A flexible team-player with a can-do attitude.
•Ability to see big picture while maintaining strong focus on detail.
