Structural Engineering Director – Central London

Package: Market leading salary dependent on experience, bonus, equity options and more


Emtech are working with a Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy based internationally who are looking for Structural Engineer Director / Regional Director to lead and help grow a new office in Central London. The company have a Director relocating to London in early 2025 and as such they are looking for someone to work alongside in growing a London presence.


The company was formed 8 years experience and has grown to 70+ staff. They typically work on projects up to £300m across large apartment schemes, healthcare facilities, schools, lab facilities, data centres, distribution centres, stadiums and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal and Company Branding: Build your professional reputation while expanding and developing the company’s’ presence in the UK market.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors across all phases of the project life cycle.
  • Project Leadership: Take ownership of project design outcomes, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery with optimal resourcing.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships to drive opportunities and repeat business.
  • Business Development: Lead efforts in tendering, securing new work, and expanding market reach.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performing and motivated workforce.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure effective management of business and operational needs to support smooth execution of company objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and uphold standards and procedures to guarantee high-quality deliverables.


Experience & Skills Required:

  • Extensive Experience: A minimum of 10+ years in structural engineering design and project delivery.
  • Professional Accreditation: Chartered Structural Engineer status.
  • London Market Expertise: Proven experience in the London market, with a strong reputation for securing consultancy projects and delivering results.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Exceptional business development and relationship management abilities, with a focus on client satisfaction.
  • Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated capability to manage and deliver diverse structural projects across various sectors.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building experience.
  • Technical Acumen: Proven ability to solve complex technical challenges effectively.
  • Effective Communication: Confident and clear communicator with a track record of successfully engaging stakeholders at all levels.
