Hammer Creative is an award winning 360 creative agency specializing in the video game industry. THE ROLE:
As a Creative Editor you are expected to edit a wide range of projects, including but not limited to trailers, T.V. spots, TikToks, CG pieces and behind-the-scenes content. You are the front line of the production process and are expected not only to be a thought leader, but also to seize the exciting opportunity to help shape and influence our company’s culture. Since Hammer Creative London is brand new, you will need to be versatile and open to wearing many hats. Additionally, the ability to troubleshoot technical or software issues related to the editing system would be beneficial. We are essentially in startup mode in London and there will inevitably be scenarios that will require you to be quick thinking with creative solutions to problems we cannot currently foresee.
This is a contract position, with potential to lead to a full-time staff role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the creative of the trailer, it is your responsibility to work collaboratively with the production department and all members of the creative team to craft a worthy, unique and ultimately memorable trailer.
- Collaborate closely with capture department and project capture lead to ensure you are receiving high quality capture needed to make a compelling and memorable trailer that meets the client brief.
- Work with producers to identify and flag potential issues related to footage quality, script structure, working environment or tech needs.
- Show WIP edits when asked to ensure the edit is tracking with the brief and so members of the creative team can check-in on capture quality.
- Give thoughtful and respectful feedback during internal review sessions, and work to solve editorial problems with patience and professionalism.
- Stay in tune with editing trends, both creative and technical.
- Manage time wisely by staying in close contact with producers and creative lead regarding deadlines.
- Be able to, on occasion, juggle more than one project at a time.
- Assist in onboarding new freelance and full time editors as needed.
- Show continual growth in style, quality of work, and technical capabilities.
- Respond to internal and client feedback in a professional and timely manner.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5+ years relevant experience at digital/creative agency or publisher.
