We are looking to fill the position of Senior MI Analyst at our MIS Analytics team. As part of Collections & Recoveries you’ll be based in one of our offices and working 35 hours per week.

Collections & Recoveries works to help members who have fallen behind on their mortgages, loans or personal bank account payments. In MIS Analytics we are responsible for making sure our colleagues have the information they need to best serve these member’s needs.


As a Senior MI Analyst, you’ll be accountable for a varied portfolio of work that can include anything from developing new automated reporting, providing your analytical expertise to project teams or enhancing the information available in our BI tools.


You will be provided with a great set of tools to accomplish your objectives including a comprehensive package of SAS software and SQL Server Management Studio. If you’re experience lies with other data tools, don’t worry, you’ll get support and training from the team to pick these up.

What you'll be doing:


  • Develop operational reporting in SAS and SQL, that will drive key business processes and decision making
  • Develop contributory data extracts for regulatory and financial reporting
  • Maintain and improve the departments BI services, working with other teams across the business to deliver new and improved dashboards and visualisations.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for questions relating to data sources, reporting and individual metrics managed and utilised by the department
  • Derive new and insight rich information to the business through the integration and analysis of data from disparate sources across the Society
  • Interpret business requirements to producing high-quality technical solutions that meet stakeholder needs
  • Document your designs to a high standard and in a way that can be interpreted by stakeholders of varying seniority and technical knowledge.
  • Measure departmental performance and present the results with visualisations that will allow decision makers and analysts to derive key business insights
  • Provide data and expertise to departmental and corporate projects
  • Taking ownership of a portfolio of deliverables, prioritising your tasks and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Support strategic change by evaluating the performance of new business strategies against operational targets
  • Respond rapidly to business requests for data, exploiting the knowledge you’ll be building of our departmental data source


About you:


As a minimum requirement you’ll:

  • Have technical competency in at least one data handling or statistical application, ideally SAS or SQL
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical ability with the capability to source, integrate and interpret data from multiple sources
  • Possess a good understanding of relational databases from a querying and reporting perspective
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Take a self-motivated approach to prioritising and completing your objectives
  • Have a proven track record of progressing your own personal development and keeping up with changes in technology
  • Have experience of ETL processes


It would be nice if you also had:


  • Experience in the financial services sector
  • Knowledge of Collections & Recoveries main aims and processes
  • Experience using SAS Data Integration Studio and Enterprise Guide
  • BSc degree educated
