Our client is seeking a Freelance Drupal Front-End Developer for a short-term contract to help kick-start an exciting new project. This is a unique chance to use your skills to shape the foundation of a custom Drupal theme and leave a lasting impact


Why This Role is Great

  • Custom Drupal Theme Setup: You’ll initiate the development of a flexible and scalable theme that follows best practices, focusing on responsive design and seamless integration with Drupal’s theming system.
  • NPM Build System: You'll set up an efficient npm-based build system for handling front-end assets, including SASS compilation and JavaScript bundling. Tools like Webpack or Gulp will be part of your toolkit to optimize CSS, JS, and media assets.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Work closely with the in-house developer to ensure smooth handover of the theme setup and build system. You’ll guide them through the workflow, offering your expertise to ensure they can continue development independently.
  • Short-Term Impact: This is an opportunity to deliver a critical project in just one week, leaving behind a well-structured theme and a fully configured front-end build environment.


About You

  • Drupal Theming Expertise: You’ve worked extensively with Drupal (8+), and you understand how to build clean, responsive themes that scale. Experience with Bootstrap 5 or similar frameworks is a plus.
  • Front-End Mastery: Your skills include HTML5, CSS3, SASS, and JavaScript, and you have a deep understanding of package management tools like npm or yarn.
  • Build Systems: You know your way around modern build tools like Webpack or Gulp, and you’re skilled at configuring these to streamline front-end development.
  • Problem-Solver and Mentor: You enjoy working collaboratively and mentoring other developers, helping them master the tools and processes you implement.
  • Effective Communicator: You can explain complex setups in clear, straightforward terms, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer.


Deliverables (within one week)

  • A custom Drupal theme structure that aligns with best practices.
  • A functional npm-based build system configured for SASS and JavaScript assets.
  • Documentation and a handover session to ensure the in-house developer can continue building the theme.
