Our partner PLAION are on the lookout for a Business Insights Manager to join their UK-based Commercial Insights team and shape data-driven strategies that fuel company growth.


As Business Insights Manager you will work closely with the Commercial and Finance teams, as well as external analytics partners, to deliver actionable insights that drive PLAION’s global physical distribution business. This position blends regular sales reporting, ad-hoc analysis, and data process management to ensure that PLAION remains at the forefront of data-driven decision-making.

Your responsibilities…

  • Lead the delivery of the quarterly Business Planning process for EMEA territories.
  • Create monthly, quarterly, and annual Trading Reports, providing insights into sales and commercial performance.
  • Develop regular pre-order, sales, and commercial insights reports, delivering actionable recommendations to drive growth.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis on specific topics, investigating opportunities to refine performance.
  • Collaborate with external analytics partners to ensure prompt and accurate processing of Retailer Stock and Sales data.
  • Proactively analyse commercial and marketing data, finding opportunities to enhance efficiency and sales performance.
  • Design dashboards using tools like Fancensus Fusion, offering tailored insights across the key areas of campaign performance, stock and sales insights, price monitoring
  • Automate and improve data collation and processing workflows.
  • Stay updated on market trends and best practices in data analytics to continuously enhance insights delivery.


The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…

  • Experienced in data analysis within a distribution or publishing environment—preferably in the Games Industry or Home Entertainment industries.
  • Data-driven, proactive and curious with a commercial mindset.
  • Strong technical expertise, collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Inquisitive nature, able to uncover trends and patterns in complex datasets.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable presenting insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Skilled at storytelling with data, crafting clear and impactful narratives that inspire action.
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • A team player with a professional, self-motivated approach.
  • Degree-level education or higher.
  • Strong technical expertise, including proficiency in MS Excel (including VBA), Fancensus Fusion, Power BI, Python or R.
