Warehouseing Operations Director.


With over 50 years’ experience in the logistics industry McCulla Ireland are one of the country’s leading providers of ambient, chilled and frozen logistics solutions throughout Ireland, the United Kingdom and Europe.


We currently have Operating Centres across Northern Ireland and Ireland, with further plans for expansion. McCulla has over 300 employees working across our Transport, Warehousing, Customs and Green Bioenergy Operations. There is an ever-growing modern fleet consisting of over 120 vehicles and 200 trailers operating our just in time service with environmental sustainability at the forefront of everything we do and making us unique in the market for our customers.

The Person:

As Warehouse Operations Director you will play a key role in shaping the future of the McCulla Ireland business, as we continue to maximise the current multi-site warehousing operations and expand for future growth. Working alongside the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team you will have a role in influencing operational and strategic decisions across our network as part of our vision. This will be a challenging and rewarding role, for someone who is highly motivated, energised, and wants to be part of a forward-thinking team.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Lead, develop and execute the warehouse operations strategy across multiple sites in line with the company goals.


  • Overseeing all warehouse operational activities, evaluating the performance and reporting directly to the Managing Director.


  • Maximizing quality and operational efficiency through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration.


  • Develop a strong team culture with senior leaders and the operations team through coaching and mentoring, focusing on building talent and abilities through your positive leadership style.


  • Oversee the operations and their compliance within our end-to-end supply chain and our customers.


  • Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our key initiatives


  • Deliver key budgetary performance goals and long-term operational plans that maintain and expand the company’s operational abilities out 3 – 5 years.


  • Identify and deliver profit margin gains across our warehousing operations.


  • Lead the effective and efficient use of capital investment projects across our warehouse sites.


  • Responsibility for stock management across all sites, ensuring accuracy and integrity of our customer products.


  • Develop and implement policies and procedures throughout the warehouse operations to improve and maintain our quality standards, ensuring legislative regulations are followed at all times, whilst maintaining a safe and efficient workplace with a high level of engagement.


  • Member of the Senior Leadership Team, working collaboratively with department heads in the development and delivery of key operational strategy


  • Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and other key stakeholders.


  • Establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment that delivers results.



Requirements:


  • You will have proven experience in a Head of Operations role with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Logistics, Supply chain and Warehousing Operations.
  • Experience of P&L management across operations.
  • Strong understanding and experience of end-to-end supply chain, operational KPIs and management.
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, and employee management
  • Strong problem-solving analysis, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands
  • Experience of working in a high-volume fast-moving environment.
  • Effective and engaging management skills, building a cohesive and engaged team built to win together.
  • Excellent IT & Systems Skills for running operations and warehousing.
  • Adaptable and Flexible attitude to work.
  • Has experience with working alongside customers.
