Planner/Senior Planner (Strategic Town Planning) - Central London

Are you a skilled and motivated Town Planner or Senior Planner looking to advance your career in Strategic Planning? If so, my client, a leading national planning consultancy is looking to grow its planning team in London and as a result, you will play a key role in shaping the future of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across the South East.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish project briefs and manage projects of various sizes and scales.
  • Promote large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments through the Local Development Framework and Development Management System.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, contributing to business development.
  • Coordinate project teams and oversee project management.
  • Conduct research, site appraisals, and prepare planning applications.
  • Draft planning statements, policy representations, and assist with planning appeals.
  • Undertake site visits, review planning history, and analyse political and demographic data.
  • Support senior team members with research, report drafting, and project monitoring.
  • Liaise with clients, Local Authorities, and consultants, ensuring the smooth flow of information.


About You:

  • Proven experience in planning, with a focus on strategic planning and project management.
  • Strong research, analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Familiarity with the Local Development Framework and Development Management System.
  • RTPI membership or working towards it is preferred.
