By deploying our general-purpose humanoid robots in environments deemed hazardous or monotonous, we envision a future where human well-being is safeguarded while closing the gaps in critical global labour needs.What You’ll DoDevelop and implement technical strategies aligned with the company’s mission and long-term goals.Collaborate with cross-functional leads and subject matter experts to architect robust, scalable systems that satisfy product requirements.Define and manage system-level requirements and ensure alignment across all engineering teams.Create and maintain system documentation, including block diagrams, interface specifications, and design narratives.Present architectural directions, trade-offs, and technical roadmaps to the leadership team.Lead trade studies and apply structured, evidence-based decision-making to guide critical design choices.Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring architectural efficiency, reliability, and scalability.Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices relevant to robotic system design.Establish technical standards and best practices, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety guidelines.Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the development lifecycle.Guide system integration efforts and coordinate with mechanical, electrical, software, and AI teams.Support system integration efforts to ensure high system performance and reliability.We’re Looking ForBachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.15+ years relevant industry experience in technical leadership positions, including 5+ years of experience in system architecture design, preferably in robotics or complex embedded systems.Strong knowledge of robotic system design, including kinematics, dynamics, control algorithms, and perception systems.Proficiency in hardware-software co-design, real-time computing, and middleware frameworksExperience with AI/ML integration, sensor fusion, and autonomous decision-making systems.Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and high-performance computing platforms.Understanding of wireless communication protocols, power management strategies, and battery technologies.Experience with system simulation tools such as Gazebo, Simulink, or similar modeling environments.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage trade-offs between performance, cost, and complexityWhat We OfferCompetitive salary plus participation in our Stock Option PlanPaid vacation with adjustments based on your location to comply with local labor lawsTravel opportunities to our Vancouver and Boston officesOffice perks: free breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and regular team eventsFreedom to influence the product and own key initiativesCollaboration with top‑tier engineers, researchers, and product experts in AI and roboticsStartup culture prioritising speed, transparency, and minimal bureaucracyHow to ApplyDoes this role sound like the perfect fit for you?Fill in the form and include links or files that showcase the best of what you’ve built and achieved.
