Role Summary 

We are seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst to extract value from large datasets of patient records and prescribing information by identifying trends, errors, omissions, and outliers. You will use your commercial acumen to prioritise activity; and your communication skills to summarise the results in terms of business outcomes that are meaningful to the client. You will also be responsible for seeking opportunities to innovate and refine our data processing methodologies to deliver additional insights and improve our productivity.  You'll be working with sensitive health data, so will be used to operating under stick data processing rules that apply in the health sector.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Analyse and Interpret Data: Work with extensive datasets to uncover trends, pinpoint anomalies, and provide data-driven recommendations to improve client revenues. 
  • Data Collection from Clinical Systems: Use of Emis and/or SystmOne clinical systems to obtain data, and excellent skills in report writing to interrogate them while ensuring compliance with all privacy and security standards. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive the development and refinement of data analysis and visualisation, fostering best practices in data analysis within the team.  
  • Secure Data Handling: Manage confidential health information securely, adhering to regulatory standards for data protection. 
  • Communicate Findings: Communicate analysis and insights in a clear, actionable format that is easy for non-technical team members and clients to understand. Ensure all results are linked to financial impacts 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members to improve whole-team approach by sharing knowledge, skills and insights. 


Requirements 

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience. 
  • Previous experience with data analysis, preferably in healthcare. 
  • Strong SQL/Excel skills, with aptitude for learning other analytics tools and expertise in MS Suite. 
  • Familiarity with clinical systems: Emis and/or SystmOne.  
  • Demonstrated capacity to interpret large datasets and propose data-driven improvements. 
  • Able to translate technically complex ideas to non-technical personnel. 
  • Prepared to work with a collaborative team that values transparency and open communication. 
  • Used to remote working: able to self-manage time in an organised and disciplined way; reliably deliver on commitments; regular communication with team.  
  • Knowledgeable about data protection practices and regulatory compliance, particularly concerning sensitive health information.
