Job Description:

As a Dell PowerScale Residency specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the infrastructure of our clients Dell PowerScale Lab.


Responsibilities:

Administration: Reviewing and managing Dell PowerScale Lab infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.


Problem Management: Coordinating service incidents, including opening service requests on behalf of the customer and participating in root cause analysis reviews.


Change Management:

  • Performing hardware/software/firmware certifications and assisting with solution documentation for field deployment of new or upgraded hardware/software/firmware.
  • Setting up automation scripts for Dell PowerScale hardware/software/firmware, including Hygiene and Cyber Pave/Repave processes and upgrades.


Continual Service Improvement:

  • Recommending procedure changes to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Sharing best practices from other engagements and providing performance tuning recommendations.


Post Implementation Planning and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Planning transitions of certified hardware/software/firmware with the deployment team.
  • Conducting knowledge transfer sessions on new technology features, management and administrative activities, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Providing recommendations on product enhancements and upgrades.
  • Setting up initial reports on supported products and implementing Dell System Management Tools.
  • Updating run-books in collaboration with customer staff.


Change Evaluation and Recommendations:

  • Reviewing IT processes and policies (Incident, capacity, performance, change management, user, and backup policy) for new solutions or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assisting with the documentation of policies and procedures in collaboration with compliance managers and other key stakeholders.
  • Conducting knowledge transfer sessions to address customer skills and resource gaps, as well as providing technology recommendations.


Qualifications:

  • UK Residency
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in administering Dell PowerScale.
  • Proficiency in technologies such as Ansible, Teraform or Python.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Certifications such as Dell EMC Proven Professional or ITIL Foundation are a plus.
