Job Purpose
To process the onboarding of trade finance transactional drawdowns under facilities and monitor and control customer exposure under their facilities. Products covered import/export letters of credit (issuing, advising, confirming, amendments, documentary presentations), open account financing payments, internal and external enquiries, guarantees, SBLCs, risk participation processing, trade loans, refinancing and discounting.
Ensure all transactions presented to the bank fall within agreed credit parameters as approved. Escalating for necessary approvals any deviations.
Ensure all upcoming maturities and obligations are regularly monitored and settled on time. Regular chasers and daily calendar items to be managed for timely action.
Ensure good communication, daily interaction and close working relationship between Trade Operations and Middle Office, Relationship Managers and other support areas.
Key Accountabilities
- To be fully conversant and keep up to date re market practice with UCP 600 and respective ISBP, URC522 URR725, ISP98, ICC URDG 758 Demand Guarantee Rules.
- Be proactive and a fast learner with an eye for detail and the ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
- To escalate (as appropriate) any exception, problem error and abnormal transaction identified during daily processing.
- To provide suggestions on improvement to reduce operation risks and or increase productivity.
