The Role

  • Supporting role within a Test Management Office (TMO) function at a leading FMCG client in support of a major digital transformation across S/4 HANA and other applications.
  • Responsible for the management of test operations to support project and programme delivery.
  • Responsible for the management of the Governance model to support project and programme delivery.
  • Ensuring that quality standards are defined and understood across testing delivery teams.
  • Ensuring operational processes are defined and understood across project and testing delivery teams.
  • Development and maintenance of plans for demand management, including forecasting and budgeting.
  • Engaging with project stakeholders to initiate test setup, i.e., understanding the high-level scope and allocating a suitable test manager from the Test Delivery Pool
  • Attend “Annual Business Plan (ABP)” alongside the PMO to gain understanding of the overall project pipeline and timescales and the purpose and technologies to be utilised in developing each project.
  • Managing the recruitment, onboarding, assignment, and scheduling of resources, ensuring the overall TMO resource profile grade / skillset level is appropriate.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers
  • Contributing operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing action plans and resolving and monitoring resource issues
  • Identifying and highlighting opportunities for improvements, regarding testing operations
  • Working collaboratively with the Test Delivery Pool to support and deliver testing services.
  • Initial maintenance of the TMO Repository of Test assets and collateral
  • Generate and publish reporting metrics and KPIs, regarding operations activities – Test Delivery Pool utilisation, Demand vs. Supply, etc.
  • Carrying out internal reviews and delivery assurance across any aspect of the test delivery as per the TMO Framework
  • Collaborating with the 3rd party test suppliers to share good practice and test standards.
  • Ensure good practice in the delivery of testing services and the production of testing deliverables, with adherence to the Test Framework
  • Ensure Test tools are appropriately leveraged within programme / project testing as per the defined guidelines.
  • Identifying and highlighting risks and opportunities for improvements
  • Driving a culture of continual process improvement, to enhance quality and expand service offerings.
  • Reporting metrics and KPIs, regarding governance and assurance activities (and project adherence to standards)
  • Applying appropriate methods to support Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, Waterfall, and other hybrid approaches.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers
  • Providing adherence reports to the Head of TMO and Senior Project Stakeholders
  • Preparing action plans and resolving and monitoring test governance issues with Test Managers within the Test Delivery Pool
  • Working collaboratively with the Test Delivery Pool to support and deliver testing services.

The Person

  • An experienced testing professional, with experience of test delivery across different types of technology change and testing projects, including software / applications, infrastructure, middleware, devices / end user computing, and digital / desktop services.
  • An advocate for Test Governance and Frameworks to ensure the correct controls are in place for an effective and efficient testing across the project portfolio.
  • Experienced in provision of relevant metrics and dashboard reporting to Leadership and representing the overall testing position in various senior forums.
  • Manages risks, issues and dependencies and escalating to Leadership where required.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence C-suite executives and others, to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to develop and implement test governance to ensure the correct controls are in place for an effective and efficient testing across the project portfolio.
  • Ensures testing activities are performed in accordance with the TMO framework with a consistent approach for reporting and escalation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence and build relationships.
  • Solid problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse complex data, identify core issues, and investigate, evaluate, and reach appropriate conclusions
