Day-to-day, you will:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support, managing IT infrastructure, and implementing technology solutions to enhance business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide first and second-level technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and network equipment. Ensure the stability and security of the company’s IT infrastructure.
- System & Server Administration: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights. Maintain and monitor system performance and ensure high availability of IT services.
- Network Management: Design, implement, and manage LAN/WAN networks, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect data, systems, and networks from threats. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans. Ensure regular backups are performed and data integrity is maintained.
- Project Management: Lead and participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures. Provide training and support to end-users as needed.
As a well rounded IT professional your skills and experience likely include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Significant experience in IT support, system administration, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.
- Experience with network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or relevant vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, AWS).
- Experience in managing enterprise-level security solutions and practices.
