THE ROLE


  • The person will be responsible for the creation of the Learning and Development strategy to support the delivery of the People Agenda and strategic objectives of the Bank.
  • Coach and develop a newly formed L&D team fostering a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.
  • Establish the Banks learning culture.
  • Shape and deliver the routes to learning across the different business units ensuring employees have access to the necessary training and development opportunities.
  • Shape and deliver new methodology’s that link skills, capabilities and competency in line with the Banks values and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead on all aspects of regulatory training and wider strategy ensuring compliance with the latest regulatory requirements and employment legislation
  • Establish and maintain external educational partnerships
  • Work with the CPO to identify and deliver a new LMS for the Bank that will be able to evolve with the ever-changing requirements of the Bank.
  • Working with the CPO / HRBP’s to launch & embed the new Performance Management process
  • Design talent management process to be used across the bank to ensure we can manage internal succession planning
  • Work with the HR team to develop Career Development Frameworks.
  • Manage the overall strategies that underpin wider internal growth, including but not limited to, graduate schemes, apprenticeships, industrial placements, work experience and interns.
  • Create leadership development programme to ensure we have an internal pipeline of employees who could progress into senior / C Suite roles within the Bank.
  • Manage the learning and development budget and establish an annual budget plan for individual stakeholder groups and the wider bank.
  • Reporting and analysis of training metrics to identify trends / areas of opportunity for CPO / Exco
  • Monitor industry trends and relevant news to identify opportunities for continuous improvement


ABOUT YOU


  • Previous experience as a lead of Learning & Development within a regulated industry – preferably Financial Services
  • Proven experience in delivering an in-house L&D delivery model in a growing organisation
  • Previous experience of designing and delivering L&D strategies and annual learning plans
  • Previous experience of designing and delivering training and competency frameworks
  • Understanding of SMCR principles and the link to our learning culture and establishing frameworks
  • Familiar with regulatory changes i.e. Consumer Duty and imbedding frameworks
  • Previous experience of incorporating regulatory changes into a learning framework
  • Proven experience of launching Learning Management Systems or equivalent supporting platforms
  • Previous experience of leading a team of L&D practitioners to deliver out led learning outcomes
  • Previous experience of designing and delivering Leadership Development Programmes
  • Previous experience of working with Senior Stakeholders / C Suite level
  • Previous experience of setting and managing organisational wide L&D budgets
  • Proven experience of managing apprenticeship levy’s and establishing apprenticeship programmes
  • Good understanding of Employment Law and how latest changes impact training requirements
  • Ability to build strong relationships, with experience working collaboratively with other teams
  • Detail conscious, analytical in reviewing costs and able to reach decisions using commercial judgement
