The Role


My client is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer focusing on reviewing contractor designs, refining engineering strategies, and supporting the expansion of projects.


In this role, you’ll coordinate with cross functional teams throughout project delivery, provide technical guidance to the construction and development teams, report key decisions to senior leadership and stakeholders, and lead design improvements.


The ideal candidate will have practical experience managing PV and BESS systems, along with knowledge of MV/HV connections and critical electrical components.


Responsibilities


  • Support various departments with solutions to electrical engineering challenges
  • Advise on electrical design criteria and conduct technical due diligence
  • Collaborate with site engineers to address any design-related electrical issues on-site
  • Work alongside the Procurement team to define specifications for electrical equipment
  • Review and assess electrical calculations, analyses, and designs
  • Develop and oversee the application of project-specific Employer’s Requirements for electrical work
  • Offer technical guidance throughout the project development phase.
  • Define electrical engineering standards, systems, and processes
  • Partner with the Grid team to analyse DSO/TSO requirements
  • Evaluate electrical designs
  • Provide mentorship and direction for junior electrical engineers


Requirements


  • At least 5 years of experience in the design and construction phases of renewable energy projects
  • In-depth knowledge of grid connection requirements for power generation
  • Skilled in using electrical design software tools
  • Proven experience in optimizing designs for PV and BESS plants
  • Competent in creating and reviewing electrical schematics
  • Familiar with international standards for electrical work in PV and BESS systems
  • Understanding of SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of grid regulations and compliance procedures
  • Commissioning experience is a plus
