Job Description:


A passionate Director of Growth Design Europe who will represent design and digital on our Team. You will ensure our Marks (SGS & Co) pipeline will be filled with brand strategy, packaging, digital, marketing communications, content production and CGI opportunities. You will partner with the other Director of Growth Team Members across the globe, VPs of Growth, EVP of Growth and the SVP of Client Service Global in your role.


You will act as the Strategic New Business Leader and become a trusted resource for Marks and SGS & Co. In your role you will liaise between potential new clients, existing client with growth opportunities and our internal cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of RFP submissions, lead discovery calls, credential presentations and/or strategic solutions across SGS & Co.


You will be responsible to be the 1st Design connect to identify the needs of the Client and the Client ask/needs when it comes to New Business Opportunities for Marks Europe

Your primary responsibilities will be the growth of our Design new business pipeline, but you will also be support to the wider Growth Team.

Generate new agency clients from discovery, approach, to pitch and fostering the new relationship to first project before transitioning business.



Accountable for:


The initial new business client relationship, presentations, new business opportunities, RFPs, organic growth opportunities with the Marks and SGS & Co Team and the dedicated NBD forecast.



As defined by:


The growth of the business in client satisfaction and relationship, revenue generation (net new and organic), contributing margin, successful achievement of identified KPIs, and growth of both direct and indirect teams.

The VP of Growth, Design and the EVP of Growth, Global



General Overview:

You understand the role design thinking plays in consumer conversion and the impact of great branding, packaging, content creation and/or brand communication. Responsibilities:


1. Get immersed in the exciting, fast-paced, Marks and SGS & Co Culture to be able to present our strategic solutions to new and existing clients

2. Oversee New Business Development as part of the Enterprise SGS & Co Growth Team - you must be able to identify Brand Strategy, Packaging, Marketing Comm, eComm, Digital and Social opportunities and needs with any new leads and speak to potential opportunities involving SGS production and prepress

3. Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts and customer stakeholders

4. Attend conferences and agency events to foster new agency leads across Marks and the broader collective

5. Ability to apply insights and/or lead RFPs, new business needs and new client lead meetings

6. Effectively present and communicate rationale and solutions to clients across an array of both Marks and SGS services

7. Ability to build credential decks in keynote and/or pptx

8. Ability to multi-task and problem-solve on a daily basis

9. Ongoing - Recommend improvements in the New Business Design process and utilization of resources and subject matter experts

10. Act as first point of responsibility for the Marks Growth and New Business Team representative

11. Write larger scale or strategic proposals, RFPs, estimates and SOWs based on new client requests from the Growth/NBD team – must ensure alignment from subject matter experts.

12. Forecast and track key metrics, communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders



Success in the role:


Success in this role is achieved by consistently demonstrating the active pipeline for design opportunities with new clients and/or new targets. Identifying growth opportunities with key targets, uphold the Marks design pillar standard of excellence, manage multiple priorities with internal and external clients, and make sound decisions to ensure the business moves forward resulting in wins for new design business and/or business for the broader collective.



Education & Experience Requirements:


• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Design

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in new business, account management and/or leadership.

• Minimum 10+years of experience working with clients on brand strategy, design and design adaptation all in relation to packaging, digital, marketing communications

• Proficient using Mac OS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PPTX and Keynote



Must possess:


• Experience in Client Service and leading Client relationships/partnerships

• Making new client relationships and cold calling potential clients

• Command an audience and feel comfortable presenting to large groups / clients

• Have a positive, proactive attitude towards opportunities and potential problems

• Ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level

• Superior written and interpersonal communication skills that can flex and navigate easily across multiple clients and project teams

• Curious nature and a commitment to learning
