Calex is a specialist training and consultancy organisation contracted to several market-leading automotive manufacturers. We are currently seeking to recruit a Course Developer to join the team at the Mercedes-Benz Cars & Van Technical Training Centre in Milton Keynes.
The Role
The role of the Course Developer will be to develop, update, enhance, and administer the suite of training courses delivered by the Technical Training Team. Working as a part of a team, and with the support of the Trainers, they will design, create, and test, a range of automotive technical learning content for delivery via:
- Face-to-face instructor led training
- Virtual classrooms
- E-Learning
The Development Team will also collaborate with our in-house Media Development Team to create bespoke film, animation, and live media content.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and create all course materials and training aids/resources
- Monitor and evaluate training courses to ensure they are current and effective
- Map out lesson content to achieve the desired learning outcomes and assessment criteria to retailer standards
- Produce all written content in line with production schedules, agreed deadlines and retailer standards.
- Support the development of delivery schedule alongside Management Team
- Gather and consider delegate and Trainer course feedback to improve quality and effectiveness of training
- Gather and consider delegate and Trainer course feedback to improve learner experience
- Receive all new courses from retailer Global Training, and adapt to UK requirements
- Deliver UK Pilot courses where applicable
- Develop, maintain, and manage interactive workbook solution for all media devices
- Support Trainers and offer guidance and solutions to problems as they arise
- Undertake other duties as can be reasonably expected
About you
- Recent Training Development experience (Essential)
- Automotive manufacturer training experience (Desirable)
- Experienced user of the latest course development platforms and techniques (Highly Desirable)
- Level 3 or equivalent Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Qualification (Desirable)
- Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Experience and/or Professional Qualification (Desirable)
- Existing Technical Training and/or Coaching experience, and linked qualification (Highly Desirable)
- Strong command of written English and an ability to present information concisely and effectively (Essential)
- Ability to communicate across different stakeholder groups, including managers, curriculum leaders, tutors and learners (Essential)
- Confidence to work independently and fit into a highly collaborative process (Essential)
- Experience of operating within external and internal quality assurance procedures (Essential)
- Highly organised working style, with strong attention to detail and an ability to work within time-sensitive schedules (Essential)
Normal place of work: Mercedes-Benz Technical Training Centre, Tongwell, MK15 8BA. Some regional work may be required from time to time.
Salary: Up to £42,000 depending on experience + Company Vehicle or Car Allowance (£5,700)
25 Days Paid Annual Leave. Calex Employee Benefits Package (inc. High Street Discounts, Online GP, Welfare Scheme).
Employment Status: Full Time (Monday to Friday). Some overnight stays and trips may be necessary.
