OVERVIEW:

Leading global operator specialised in the energy transition is looking for a Technical Manager to support the Asset Management Department with the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) portfolio.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

As part of the UK team and reporting to the Managing Director, this position will be accountable for the following tasks:

As part of the Asset Management team this position will be accountable for the following tasks:

• Coordinate O&M subcontractors of BESS assets: follow up preventive maintenance plans, corrective actions, and activities on site.

• Perform site visits and field inspections as needed in coordination with the O&M Contractor.

• Supervising and managing all relevant contracts (EPC, Finance Agreement, Market Participant, O&M, Asset Management, etc.) from a technical perspective

• Establishing and keeping relationships with the main stakeholders of a BESS portfolio, such as Grid stakeholders (TSO & DNO), Utilities, main contractors among others.

• Provide technical support and detailed calculations of KPIs for the entire BESS portfolio.

• Foresee technical problems and points of improvement in the assets. Applicability and understanding of the impacts on a potential scale up of the proposal.

• Monitor asset performance, KPIs and recommend corrective measures.

• Support Corporate Asset Management team from a technical point of view.

• Strong knowledge of the United Kingdom electricity markets, regulations, and stakeholders.

• Identify and initiate optimization efforts on BESS operations within the Asset Management department.

• Keep track of permits and other requirements related to Asset permits and O&M activities.

• Management of QHSE issues along with the Asset Manager

• Warranty claims support

• Other ad-hoc duties.


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERTISE:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or similar) discipline is highly valued.

• Demonstrable experience in utility-scale battery energy storage systems.

• Good knowledge on main renewables market drivers, policies, regulation, standards and future tendencies.

• Good understanding of Electrical systems + strong background in electronics, communications, and power systems.

• Knowledge of industry-standard communication protocols like Modbus, DNP3, ICCP, IEC 61850, and SCADA systems.

• Skills in designing and managing both wired and wireless networks to ensure reliable data exchange.

• Understanding on renewable industry.

• Ability to interact and collaborate with a diverse group of people at all levels and disciplines.

• Understanding of contracts including management and reporting.

• Strong MS EXCEL and IT skills (desired Python).

• Critical eye for all compliance and safety matters.
