The purpose of the Senior Associate within Finance is to assist with the with the management of our internal finance systems and policies.


The senior associate within finance would be working closely with our procurement team on specific technology vendor accounts.


Processing of internal cash and corporate card expenses and assisting with weekly payment runs for invoices and expenses.


Provide the financial information that other functions across GTIL require to operate effectively and efficiently to ensure those functions are supported in their ability to have a laser focus on helping firms to grow their international business and on safeguarding the network.


Ensure financial records are accurate and up to date to enable correct decision making.

Assisting with the maintenance of our internal financial systems and troubleshooting issues through correct channels.


Responsibilities include assisting day to day accounting including but not limited to, queries assisting, month end reporting, annual audit, internal reporting, and monthly reconciliations.


Location

Main responsibilities


Day to day accounting

  • Responsible for maintaining user information and user setups of internal finance systems. Creating new supplier accounts ensuring all relevant information is entered on the supplier record including the bank details for payment and payment terms.
  • Assisting with system improvements and being the main point of contact with respect to troubleshooting system related issues through the appropriate channels. Working with our dedicated consultant on automation projects and championing continuous system improvements and efficiencies.
  • Assisting with weekly payment runs for supplier invoices and expenses.
  • Posting cash and corporate card expenses to ensure they comply with our internal finance policies and are coded to the correct nominal ledger code.
  • Collaborating with the procurement team on specific technology vendor accounts, managing invoice processing and assisting with member firm charge back processes.
  • Assisting the Finance manager with any ad-hoc reporting.


Monthly accounting

  • Monthly corporate card account reconciliation and supplier account clean-ups.
  • Monthly payroll invoice processing.
  • Sending out monthly purchase ledger reports to Finance business partners relating to account allocations and outstanding transaction listings.
  • Processing of month end accruals and prepayments ensuring journals are accurate, done in a timely manner and up to date.
  • Preparing the final data set for the monthly cost reports.


Operations

  • Assisting the Finance manager with maintaining our finance operating system and troubleshooting issues
  • Assist with system enhancement projects carried out by the finance team and support technician
  • Assisting with systems testing


Other

  • Assist with preparing for the Year End Audit including any reconciliations and reporting required.
  • Review current processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiencies and improve working practices.


Person specification


Experience – Essential


  • Experience of working in a financial, business to business or professional services environment
  • Self-starter with the ability and confidence to develop and implement their own projects and workload.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact, challenge and support senior stakeholders.
  • Very good interpersonal skills and a good team player
  • Good organisation and time management skills and an ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Advanced level Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a cross-geographic, cross-organizational, and cross-cultural context.


Experience - Desirable


  • Previous experience of working within a global professional services environment and with international stakeholders
