Expleo Engineering are seeking a Group Leader – Paint to be responsible for achieving volume, quality and cost targets through the combined team effort of direct and indirect departments. This will be a permanent role based at our clients sites in West Midlands and South Wales.

Responsibilities of the Group Leader – Paint include:

  • Continuously improve all areas of operations including quality, schedule achievement, cost and people development.
  • Plan and co-ordinate manufacturing operations within areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure that the departmental area of responsibility can function at all times.
  • Motivate, support and lead the team through coaching and mentoring.
  • Achieve required performance in areas of housekeeping, waste management, and compliance to safety and environmental legislation.
  • Enable the team to set work standards/processes, implement assignments/labour loading and achieve production targets.
  • Develop and implement robust problem containment and resolution to protect the customer.
  • Monitor team local budgetary spend on overtime, tooling, and other consumable type items.

Background, skills and experience required for the Group Leader – Paint role:

  • Previous background within Automotive production team leadership and development.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring to enable effective team morale and performance.
  • Ability to use diagnostic skills to determine faults and lead a team in the rectification of such faults.
  • Facilitate team training needs by identifying team strengths and weaknesses.
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques and ability to use diagnostic skills to determine faults and lead a team in the rectification of such faults.
