Production Subcontract Planner

Overview:
MacTaggart Scott are looking to recruit a Production Subcontract Planner to work in our Production Planning Department.
Role:
This role reports directly into the Production Planning Manager
The purpose of the role is to assist in the balancing of Manufacturing Loads by utilising Sub-Contractors.
This role is based on site at our Loanhead office.
In addition, you can expect a competitive salary and benefits package along with the opportunity to work a flexible 4 or 5 day 37 hour working week
Duties will include:
- Working with the Operations Planners to identify overloads using the ERP System.
- Highlight material requirements to Purchasing to ensure availability to allow Subcontracting at earliest opportunity.
- Identify suitable Subcontractors to carry out the required work.
- Obtain quotes and ensure best price and deliver dates will meet MTS requirements.
- Establish a portfolio of Subcontractors capable of meeting MTS requirements.
- Build and maintain good relationships with Subcontractors and keep in regular contact.
- Visit Subcontractors to ensure key orders are on track to agreed dates.
- Highlight non-conformance and expedite resolution.
- Create and maintain measures to monitor Subcontractor schedules and quality adherence.
- Raise and monitor Purchase Orders through the ERP system.
- Work with the Despatch department to ensure orders leave on time.
- Identify batch work where possible to de-risk and reduce cost.
- Engage with QA Department to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Ensure compliance with Subcontractor onboarding process.
- Ensure compliance of procurement processes.
Essential skills, experience and knowledge requirements:
The successful candidate must;
Must have excellent Communication Skills in order to convey requirements.
Confidence in dealing with Subcontractors.
Must have the ability to work on your own and as part as a team.
Must have a methodical and organised work ethic and be able to plan ahead and prioritise work.
Must have a good understanding of Microsoft Office.
Must be able to set and meet targets.
Must be able to work to a deadline.
Must have an understanding of Manufacturing processes.
