DevOps-SRE Lead Engineer

2 days per week on-site

£85k-£120k base salary plus bonuses


We are hiring on behalf of a leading financial institution committed to creating products that help clients grow their businesses, supporting millions of customers across the UK.


As a DevOps-SRE Lead Engineer, you’ll divide your time between leading, mentoring, and hands-on engineering. You will build and maintain large-scale, fault-tolerant systems, focusing on reliability, scalability, and architectural simplicity. You'll optimize existing Azure systems, develop new Azure PaaS and IaaS solutions, and drive automation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers in DevOps and SRE practices.
  • Solve complex technical challenges with coding, system design, and forensic analysis.
  • Automate processes and build new solutions on Azure.
  • Develop and manage Kubernetes services, container security, and microservice architectures.
  • Implement SRE principles, manage code quality, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Proficiency in at least two languages (e.g., .Net, Java, Python, Go, Bash/Shell).
  • Proven technical leadership experience.
  • Extensive DevOps experience at a senior engineering level.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure (AKS, Key Vault, APIM) and DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Nexus, Git).
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Istio (AKS is an advantage).
