The Role

As an Application Support Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning and optimization of a diverse technology landscape, focusing on both modern and legacy applications. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing the performance of systems like System 21, contributing to service improvements, and supporting financial and operational systems integration. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to address system issues, ensuring business continuity and efficiency.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Regularly monitor system operations for software integrity, user accessibility, and performance.
  • Conduct security and performance surveillance, promptly addressing alerts to manage potential issues.
  • Contribute to incident resolution, conducting root cause analyses for swift, minimal-impact solutions.
  • Ensure prompt response to support requests, maintaining high service standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in consolidating financial systems and enhancing the use of applications across multiple sites.
  • Participate in service improvement initiatives, focusing on problem management and transitioning services.


The Ideal Candidate:

As an Application Support Engineer, you’ll thrive in a collaborative and dynamic environment, leveraging your experience in both modern and legacy ERP systems, particularly with System 21, Great Plains, or Navision. You will be instrumental in driving efficient workflows within an FMCG setting, with a focus on financial and IT processes.


Ideally, your skills and experience will include:

  • Experience in deploying or assisting with systems related to financial processes, inventory control, and supply chain.
  • Ability to grasp business workflows, address technical challenges, and escalate issues as required.
  • Expertise in iSeries operations, particularly in an ERP environment.
  • Skills in server operations, including SQL database management and data analysis through SQL queries.
  • A strong background in service improvement and problem management, with a focus on minimizing disruptions and enhancing system performance.
