Due to the expansion within our Banks Property and Banks Homes business we are looking for a Project Coordinator to join our existing experienced team.


Your main duties will be to support the Project Manager (Housebuilding) and Project Managers within Banks Property & Homes in the coordination of project related work throughout the project lifecycle in order to deliver and achieve business objectives.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your main duties and responsibilities are outlined below:

Project Programmes

  • Consult and support the Project Managers ‘PMs’ and the wider team to produce detailed Project Programmes on Microsoft Project.
  • Consult with the PM regularly to ensure programmes are kept up to date.
  • Manage and monitor significant milestones and trigger points on programmes.
  • Monitor and report on slippages, risks and advancements to the relevant PM’s.
  • Present programmes at project meetings and the House Building Priorities meetings.

Portfolio Planning

  • Consult with the PM and the wider team to ensure the portfolio planning programme is kept up to date and accurate.
  • Present the portfolio planning programme at the House Building Priorities Meeting.
  • Monitor and report on slippages, risks and advancements to programmes to the PM’s and the wider team.

Technical Co-ordination

  • Consult and support the technical team to co-ordinate submission of new projects to the Warranty provider (NHBC, ICW etc) to allow registration.
  • Assist the Technical team with:-
  • Procuring the services of structural warranty providers
  • Overseeing document management programmes (e.g Doc Hosting).
  • Co-ordination and updating of the Banks Homes construction and finishing specification.
  • Support the Technical Manager & Development Engineer (Housebuilding) to review and prepare response to changes through emerging and legislation standards change.

House Type Coordination

  • Manage the Bank Homes House Type range. This would include (but not limited to):
  • Ensure the range is organised in a useable and accurate online folder system.
  • Ensure the folders are up to date and the correct versions are available.
  • Manage potential new requirements emerging such as handing of units etc
  • Co-ordinate the “core range review” quarterly meetings.
  • Liaise with consultants to co-ordinate the House Type amendments. This would include briefing and instructing consultants accurately of the changes required.
  • Assist the Technical team with the co-ordination of SAP approval for the core house type range.
  • Assist the Technical team with the co-ordination of Building Regulation approval for the core house type range.

Project Management

  • Work alongside the PMs to develop and implement agreed project strategy to programme and within budget
  • In conjunction with the PMs prepare and manage the project risk register. Manage project risks to their agreed resolution.
  • Attend, actively engage and chair project meetings, when required, to capture programme movement and to produce appropriate actions. You will be expected to report and present on programme movement at project meetings.
  • Prepare plans for use in reports and documentation relating to Projects.
  • Assist the PMs with monthly reporting to both the Board and House Building Priorities meetings.
  • Attend public exhibitions and drop in surgeries as well as dealing with members of the public, as and when required.
  • Attend meetings with external consultants to establish briefs and progress ongoing relationships throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with Planning and Council Officers throughout the projects.
  • Meet with key stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the project.


Assistance with the management of budgets and all relevant aspects of procurement to include:

  • Raise, monitor and manage purchase orders.
  • Liaise with Project Procurement on appointments and variations.
  • Process new consultants through the PQQ process.
  • Support the project team to ensure availability of Warranties and Letters of Reliance.
  • Assist with preparation of supporting material for tender purposes on projects.
  • Prepare briefs for appointment letters and appoint consultants in conjunction with Project Procurement team.

Commercial

  • Assist with the co-ordination and preparation of commercial assessments and appraisals in conjunction with the project team.
  • Assist the Land and Sales team with the collation of comparable evidence for use in development appraisals.

Sales coordination

  • Update House Builder Pro or equivalent Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems accurately and effectively.
  • Assist Head of Sales and Marketing with the coordination of the customer journey.
  • Liaise with Graphics Team on plans.
  • Prepare information to be included in packs linked to reports and plans undertaken as part of the pre-sale process.
  • Update reports/plans and notifying interested parties of any updates.

Health and Safety

  • Review and update site risk assessments with support from the PMs on a regular basis.
  • Updating records and ensuring site visit reports filed and actioned.
  • Assisting the Project team with the creation and updating of Hazards Plans.
  • Undertaking site inspections and filing of reports.


KEY CONTACTS:

Contact will be with Property and Homes team members, as well regular contact to external parties as above. You will need to maintain professional relationships with all external stakeholders and build an appropriate professional network.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

You will be office based and will involve the co-ordination of internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Travel will be required across the Northeast of England and Yorkshire to attend site visits and meetings with Consultants/Councils as and when required.


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Previous experience or qualifications in construction, surveying, town and country planning, property management or other related degree.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • High levels of numeracy and literacy, including report writing.


DESIRABLE:

  • Previous experience in the property, land or housebuilding sector or wider experience of the office environment.
  • Member of, working towards or looking to commence a professional accreditation (MRTPI/MRICS)


PERSONAL QUALITIES/COMPETENCIES:

  • An enthusiastic self-starter who can influence and manage working in a fast-paced environment through periods of uncertainty and opportunity.
  • Planning & organising skills; capable of handling several project tasks simultaneously.
  • First class communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Goal orientated.
  • Diligent, with high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with regular travel.
