As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will act as a route of escalation for the day-to-day strategic and operational performance, supporting our team of buyers where required. Job Description

·      Build and maintain strategic and key supplier relationships, providing clear communication on day-to-day procurement activities.

·      Assisting our team of buyers in managing the day-to-day procurement operations including supplier performance, risk, escalation and improvement initiatives ensuring key project deliverables are achieved.

·      Accountable for successful supplier performance management using vendor scorecards and supporting the team dealing with key suppliers to provide performance improvements as required.

·      Preparing appropriate reporting on KPIs for both internal and external stakeholders.

·      Identify and delivery cost saving opportunities.

·      Support the procurement manager in the tendering and sourcing process in accordance with agreed project deliverables.

·      Confidently negotiate and agree terms and conditions, and contractual agreements including the flow-down and management of KPI’s.

·      Attend supplier and customer meetings, and engagements both on-site and off-site.

·      Ownership of procurement master data within our systems, ensuring the accuracy of this data.

·      Manage and mentor a team of junior buyers and deputise for the Procurement Manager where appropriate.


Benefits

A salary of 50-60k DOE with flexible working, shared profit bonus scheme, a competitive pension scheme.


Successful Applicant

·      3-5 years’ experience, preferably in engineering and / or defence environment.

·      Experience working in a fast-based deadline driven environment.

·      Ability to lead and motivate a team.

·      MCIPS / CIPS desirable but not essential

·      Comfortable with 4 days office, 1 day at home

·      Proven track record of identifying and delivering procurement savings

·      Experience of managing, driving, and developing supplier and stakeholder relationships.

·      Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Essential.
