Business Development Manager – Security Systems


Company Overview:

Role Overview:

As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will play a key role in driving new business growth, managing relationships with existing clients, and promoting a range of security products including Nedap, Gallagher, Lenel, Avigilon, Axis, Milestone, and Hanwha. You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and working closely with the technical team to ensure smooth implementation of solutions.

This role is ideal for someone with a technical engineering background (e.g., Senior Engineer or Systems Engineer) who is keen on transitioning to a more sales-focused role. If you have experience in access control systems and/or video surveillance technologies and a natural sales flare, this could be a great opportunity for you to grow and develop your career in sales.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Sales:
  • Identify new business opportunities and generate sales leads within the security systems market.
  • Engage with key decision-makers to present solutions and secure contracts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the customer base and enhance market presence across the Midlands
  • Actively drive the full sales cycle from initial contact to deal closure.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and provide after-sales support.
  • Technical Knowledge & Consultation:
  • Use your technical understanding of security systems to propose the most suitable solutions for client needs.
  • Offer pre-sales technical support and advice, working closely with the engineering and technical teams.
  • Understand and articulate product features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
  • Product & Market Expertise:
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products from leading manufacturers including Nedap, Gallagher, Lenel, Avigilon, Axis, Milestone, and Hanwha.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
  • Prepare regular sales reports, including forecasts, progress updates, and results.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of all client interactions, sales activities, and project progress.


Ideal Candidate:

  • You could be a seasoned Business Development Manager (BDM) with extensive experience in security systems sales, looking to expand your portfolio or transition into a new market.
  • Alternatively, you could be a Senior Engineer with hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, or technical support of security systems, who is eager to make the move into sales.
