Role Overview

We’re seeking a talented Technical Artist to join our mobile game development team. The ideal candidate will bridge art and programming by optimizing workflows, implementing technical art solutions, and ensuring seamless asset integration for high-quality mobile game development.

Responsibilities: 

• Art Pipeline and Tools Development: Collaborate with the art team to develop efficient, streamlined workflows for creating and implementing art assets. Develop tools, scripts, and plugins to automate tasks and boost productivity.
• Asset Integration and Optimization: Integrate art assets into the game. Ensure they are correctly imported, optimized for performance, and displayed accurately in the game.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Leverage knowledge of rigging, animation, lighting, and rendering to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Visual Effects and Shader Development: Design visual effects (VFX) and develop shaders, particle systems, dynamic lighting, and other visual elements to enhance the game's look and feel.
• Performance Optimization: Collaborate with programmers to optimize game performance. Analyze and improve art-related aspects to ensure the game runs smoothly across various platforms and devices.
• Artistic Guidelines and Standards: Maintain artistic guidelines and standards. Partner with the art team to establish and enforce quality benchmarks, visual consistency, and optimization requirements.
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Unite artists, animators, designers, and programmers with exceptional communication skills. Find solutions that balance artistic vision with technical feasibility.
• Research and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies. Provide insights into innovative art workflows or visual improvements to elevate the artistry of the gaming experience.

Requirements: 

• At least 4 years of proven work experience in a similar role, particularly in mobile game development.
• Proficiency in industry-standard art software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, 3D Studio Max, ZBrush, Blender, or similar tools.
• A solid understanding of art integration with the Unity Game Engine.
• Knowledge of scripting languages, shader languages, and automation tools is highly beneficial.
• Exceptional technical, artistic, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Strong collaboration and English communication skills.
• Passion for gaming.
• Proactive, dynamic, and well-versed in industry trends and competitive products.
