Are you a passionate Technical Artist looking for an exciting opportunity to bridge the gap between artists and engineers? Our client, a leading organisation in the AR industry, is seeking a talented team member to join their multidisciplinary team. As a Technical Artist, you will play a crucial role in building cutting-edge social experiences in Augmented and Mixed Reality.
In this dynamic role, you will collaborate closely with the engineering and design teams to develop impressive content and strategies across a range of devices. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of complex and optimised immersive experiences using a variety of products. Get ready to prototype, profile, and optimise custom shaders, as you enhance the performance of the content and guide artists and designers in modelling and texturing best practises.
Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with the engineering and design teams to develop content and strategy across a range of devices and provide valuable feedback on Tooling.
- Implement runtime logic within a complex real-time environment, keeping performance limitations in mind.
- Prototype, profile, and optimise custom shaders to create visually stunning experiences.
- Optimise content by enhancing performance and guiding artists and designers in asset creation, modelling, and texturing best practises.
- Develop broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks, including diagnosing and fixing bugs.
- Solve issues quickly, collaborating with cross-functional leads.
- Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines to deliver exceptional results.
- Design, manage, and maintain the pipeline from artists and designers through to deployment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in understanding the inner workings of a real-time game engine (Unity, Unreal, etc).
- Experience with game/real-time profiling and optimisation techniques.
- Proficiency in real-time scripting (JS, React).
- Familiarity with shader languages (GLSL, ShaderLab, HLSL).
- Experience shipping products with stringent runtime performance constraints, such as complex mobile or 3D applications or games.
- Strong collaboration skills demonstrated through multi-disciplinary teamwork.
- Effective communication across team members including engineers and artists.
- Proficiency in real-time content authoring (characters, environments, VFX, animation, lighting).
- Experience working with version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep knowledge of low-level real-time graphics pipeline concepts.
- Passion and knowledge of emerging technologies.
- Self-motivated with a product thinking mindset.
