D R Newitt are partnered with an exciting start-up within the Solar & BESS industry who are looking for an experienced Solar Designer to help drive them forward & work closely alongside the founder.


This is an amazing opportunity to join a business with a founder who has a proven background in growing & developing a Renewable Energy solutions provider to a market leader in the UK.


In your new role you will be responsible for:

  • Developing detailed designs for renewable energy systems with a particular focus on large scale commercial alongside medium sized ground mount solar projects, considering factors such as energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact.
  • Optimise existing renewable energy system designs to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Ensure designs comply with all LPA and UK planning regulations related to renewable energy systems across Solar and BESS.
  • Manage the grid application process for new and existing projects.


Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-5 Years experience in the design of large scale Solar or Battery Storage projects in the UK.
  • Understanding of energy generation, storage systems, management systems, and the energy market in UK.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Excellent proficiency in design and simulation software(s) such as PVSol, PVSyst, AutoCAD, PSCAD, Matlab or equivalent used in the UK renewable energy sector.
