Role Overview:
This London-based role is essential for designing, engineering, and supporting hybrid cloud platforms that encompass both on-premise and public cloud environments. You will play a crucial role in delivering robust technology services across various global business sectors, requiring deep expertise in VMware, Windows, on-premise technologies, and public cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
Key Experience Required:
- VMware Expertise: Extensive experience with VMware is a must, particularly in designing and managing advanced virtualisation environments. You will handle complex, multi-tenant setups, focusing on high availability, scalability, and optimal performance. Your ability to integrate VMware with on-premise and cloud platforms will be vital, ensuring efficient resource management, load balancing, and disaster recovery.
- Windows Server Technologies: Proficiency in Microsoft server technologies is essential. You’ll manage and optimise Windows-based infrastructure across both on-premise and virtualised environments. This includes deploying and maintaining bare-metal hardware (preferably HPE), using advanced features like Hyper-V, and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of Windows environments.
- On-Premise Technologies: Experience in managing on-premise infrastructure is critical. This includes physical servers, networking equipment, and storage solutions. You’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining high-performance, resilient on-premise systems that support key business functions, ensuring smooth integration with virtualisation and cloud technologies.
- Public Cloud Platforms: Expertise in public cloud platforms, particularly with major hyperscalers like Microsoft Azure or AWS, is required. You’ll design, implement, and support cloud-based solutions that complement on-premise infrastructure, enabling scalability, flexibility, and innovation. Your role will involve navigating cloud architecture, security, networking, and cost management to deliver optimal cloud services.
- Infrastructure Integration: You will integrate VMware, Windows, on-premise, and public cloud technologies to create a seamless, interoperable environment. Knowledge of enterprise security, networking, and load balancing is essential to build resilient and high-performing infrastructure across multiple platforms.
- Automation and Orchestration: Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies is key, particularly in automating and orchestrating hybrid environments. Experience with tools like Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and ServiceNow will enable you to achieve consistent, repeatable deployments and efficient management across both on-premise and cloud platforms.
