Gretna Green is renowned for forging more marriages than any other location in the UK, embodying the true story of love conquering all. We have two hotels in Gretna Green and our Famous Blacksmith’s Attraction site, as well as our legendary wedding venue, is home to an onsite historic exhibition, food outlet, 4 retail stores and we have a retail store at Welcome Break too.   


The Role: 


Gretna Green Ltd’s in-house designer will own the visual story-telling strategy across all our onsite locations, websites, printed materials and digital and traditional advertising. The role sits within our marketing team and an awareness of marketing and a sense of commercial awareness is important for this role.  


Key Responsibilities: 


  • Graphic Design: Produce high-quality graphic designs for print materials, digital platforms, and point-of-sale materials to brand standards and deadlines. 
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all graphic designs align with brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent visual identity. 
  • Print and Digital: Create engaging graphics suitable for both print and digital platforms, considering various specifications and requirements. 
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with marketing team members to align content with overall strategies and work with other departments to ensure a cross-functional approach. 
  • Compliance: Ensure all marketing activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. 
  • General: Maintain high standards of health, safety, and customer care. 


Qualifications: 


  • Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in graphic design with a portfolio showcasing diverse projects. 
  • Proficient in graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Strong attention to detail and creative thinking skills. 
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Resilience and determination with a proactive approach. 
  • Video-editing and animation skills desirable
