Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a robust curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Support and mentor Science teachers to enhance their professional practice.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies for improvement where necessary.

  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student learning and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a relevant Science discipline.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a secondary school setting.
  • Demonstrable track record of improving student outcomes in Science.
  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and educational excellence.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to manage change effectively.
  • Experience in developing and leading STEM initiatives is desirable.
