The client has over 75 years of developing life saving therapies and treatments for both humans and animals who also hold themselves to the highest standards of heath and quality.
The successful candidate will work in accordance with ASPA, assist NVS, maintain animal welfare and follow all policies and procedures.
Basic Requirements:
* Registered or eligible for admission to the RCVS Register of Veterinary Nurses (RVN)
* Minimum 3 Years relevant industry experience
* Ability to gain or current holder of a Home Office personal license
* IT Skills: Familiarity and expertise with Excel, Word, bespoke database, or other similar production software
* A high level of communication and listening skills with other team members and suppliers
* A good level of attendance and time keeping
* Consistent competence when performing the above listed Essential Tasks
* Continuous professional development (CPD) with the responsibility to complete own training records
* A humane approach to the care of animals
* A supportive approach of business needs, changes, and development
* An understanding of customer requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist in vet rounds
* Be prepared to assist during out of normal working hours emergencies
* Provide first aid care to unwell animals
* Prepare animals for surgical procedures
* Provide support to animals before, during and after operations, and issue anaesthetic monitoring/surgery checklist
* Maintain hygiene standards in the Veterinary Suite and Procedure Room, including daily/weekly cleaning of all rooms
* Organise and manage a veterinary equipment maintenance schedule
* Ensure that the sterility of surgical equipment is maintained
* Carry out routine checks of the whelping dams and puppies and provide supportive care when needed
* Maintain day book in the Veterinary Suite and Procedure Room
* Complete stock counts of all drugs / cycle counts, and ensure they are up to date
