Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support: Work closely with teachers to support the delivery of lessons, ensuring that pupils are engaged and motivated.
One-to-One and Group Work: Provide tailored support to individual students or small groups, focusing on those who need extra help with learning.
Learning Resources: Help prepare classroom materials and resources, ensuring that learning activities are engaging and accessible.
Behaviour Management: Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment, supporting children with behavioural needs.
Monitoring Progress: Work with teachers to track student progress and contribute to assessments, ensuring all students are given the support they need.
Pastoral Care: Provide emotional support and encouragement to pupils, fostering their confidence and wellbeing.
Candidate Requirements:
We are looking for a candidate who is:
Passionate about Education: A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and helping them succeed is essential.
Experience in Schools: Ideally, you will have prior experience working in a school or educational setting, particularly in a primary school, nursery or early years environment.
Understanding of SEN: Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is desirable but not essential. The willingness to learn and support children with diverse learning needs is crucial.
Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents is vital to building strong relationships.
Team Player: You will work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
Patient and Caring: A positive, nurturing attitude, with the patience to work with children at varying levels of ability.
Relevant Qualifications: Ideally, you will hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent), but this is not essential if you have the right experience and skills.
