Laboratory Assistant
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week); Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm
Location: Waltham Abbey, EN9 3BZ
Salary: £23,915.01 per annum 
SUMMARY 
To provide support to the laboratory. 
No previous laboratory experience is required but would be desirable.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS 
Sharp mental awareness and attention to detail.
Good typing skills.
Excellent organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing.
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word etc).
Pro-active and takes ownership.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Adherence to Standard Operating and Technical procedures.
Sample Submission – unpacking, logging, and tracking.
Use of LIMS.
Sentinel monitoring and upload.
MRO requests and reporting.
Referral logging and coordination.
Filing of samples and management of sample storage.
Other administrative duties as and when required.
Raising non-conformances, planned deviations, changes, risks and improvements as required.
To assist with audits as required.
To participate in annual Appraisal.
To perform scanning and filing of sensitive customer request forms.
To participate in any relevant training as required.
To adhere to Health and Safety procedures to ensure safety of all staff.
To adhere to company policies and business systems manuals.
Adhere to ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 requirements in testing and quality control procedures.
To ensure commitment to impartiality and confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of information.
Adhering to all policy, procedure, regulatory, customer and standard requirements relating to quality, information security and environmental management systems.
Any other duties deemed relevant from time to time.
