Head of Ecommerce

Working for a luxury brand, the Head of eCommerce will lead the strategy to grow the global eCommerce business, focusing on driving customer acquisition, retention/engagement, on-site conversion and ultimately revenue. You’ll lead a small team of digital marketing and eCommerce professionals (as well as external agencies), but need to be prepared to get stuck in and get your ‘hands dirty’ when needed


The Head of eCommerce will be responsible for:

  • Leading the eCommerce and digital marketing strategy
  • Customer acquisition strategy, primarily across paid media channels (paid social, paid search, display, affiliates, etc.), but also SEO, partnerships and any other channels that could drive growth
  • Trading, merchandising and promotional calendar
  • Website – customer journeys, UX, optimisation
  • Retention and engagement, primarily email marketing
  • Working closely with the CEO (who they will directly report to) on the overall strategy
  • Managing a small team of digital marketers and eCommerce professionals
  • Managing media agencies


The Head of eCommerce will have:

  • Plenty of eCommerce and digital experience
  • Ideally worked at startups/SME’s where eCommerce revenue was less than £10m
  • Excellent analytical skills and a data driven mindset
  • Experience in luxury/premium brands would be beneficial
  • If not already a Head of eCommerce, then candidates could come from roles like Senior eCommerce Manager, Senior Digital Marketing Manager, eCommerce Lead or Head of Digital type roles


This is a great opportunity for a talented Head of eCommerce to join a well-established luxury brand that is looking to grow their eCommerce channel globally, replicating the success that they have in retail and wholesale. This would initially be a 12 month FTC, but very likely to convert to a permanent role at the end of the 12 months, if not before
