The Opportunity
Due to projects expanding, a fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Civil Designer to join the UK’S leading fuel supplier to help accurately prepare all detailed drawing packages.
Estimated Duration- 12 months.
This role has been deemed inside / outside of IR35.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Prepare Detailed Drawing packages to allow the Civil and Structural Steel contractors to construct and install the project or plant change request design.
The incumbent will be expected to work both independently and as a member of multi-discipline teams.
The incumbent must be able to work on-site amongst plant and equipment and have a good knowledge of refinery piping design.
Visit site to carry out detailed surveys of existing & proposed installations using various measuring devices including Laser and dumpy levels.
The Designer will model the civil and structural steel using the current 3D design software (currently Plant3D). They will also be required to prepare 2D drawings and associated reinforcement schedules for current office procedures (AUTOCAD).
Work as directed by the D.O. Civil / Structural Section Leader.
Undertake design and prepare drawings/documents which will be issued to enable installation of new civil and structural designs to engineering and site standards.
Prepare 3D model of the proposed design.
To undertake detailed site surveys using Laser & Dumpy levels.
Prepare Deliverable drawings in AutoCad.
Produce Bar Bending Schedules.
Issue drawings for review and then installation.
Attend 3D model reviews.
Work in accordance with Design Office procedures (WI’s).
Liaise with other discipline designers.
Liaise with Site Civil and Structural Engineers.
Attending project or plant change meetings.
Attending regulatory safety training, including site and PU inductions, permit to work, fire training.
Use Essar design codes and standards.You will have the following qualifications and experience
Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
Civil and Structural Steel design and drafting experience in the Petro-chemical industry.
A self-starter who can demonstrate the ability to take the initiative, be proactive and follow through to completion.
Should have good experience of working as part of a team and good communications skills.
Understanding of applicable UK legislation, engineering standards and design codes.
The incumbent must be physically fit and be able to work at heights and in exposed outdoor areas.
Autocad.
Plant t3D design software.
CDM Regulations.
Petro-Chemical civil / structural design.
